Building Breweries Hosts Veering Creek Hop Farm + Holsopple Brewing

Episode 25 – Veering Creek Hop Farm (Ballardsville, KY) + Holsopple Brewing (Louisville, KY)

After a brief hiatus–and some serious craft beer drinking–Building Breweries is back with some improvements! Using new equipment, I was able to secure some interviews with a couple of “new” organizations in Kentucky.

First, I speak with Purna Veer, who just started growing hops at Veering Creek Farm in Oldham County, KY. Purna is the President of V-Soft Consulting, an IT Firm in Louisville, KY. Purna, interested in farming since he was little, saw the need of a larger hop farm in Kentucky for the growing craft beer industry. Veering Creek Farm hopes to be a leading force in the Hop Growers community, as well as open a winery on the farm in the future.

Then I visit Louisville’s newest East End brewery, Holsopple Brewing (coming soon). This is Kristy Holsopple’s and Sam Gambill’s first brewery. They are, however, working with over a decade of beverage industry experience, from breweries and distilleries of all sizes.

A note to listeners:

If you know of a brewery with an interesting origin story or background, or if you are a brewery and think you have a story to share, I’d be more than willing to learn more about it! Please reach out to me on Twitter or Facebook.

As always, I would be grateful if you subscribed to Building Breweries on iTunes and left me a rating/review. It would go a long way in helping me grow and attract other breweries.

Thank you for listening!

Michael, host of Building Breweries, is brand new to all of this (and he'll admit that every second he gets). Building Breweries is his first podcast project and hopes to see success in the future with more interviews from founders, owners, and brewers in order to learn more about the folks responsible for the good things we drink.
