Cleveland based Platform Beer Co. is collaborating with local Soccer Squad Cleveland SC on a new beer to be released soon. Look for Orangeaid to be available in limited distribution at the end of August; kicked off by a release party at the Lorain Ave Tasting Room on August 24 from 5-8pm. Cleveland SC players will be on site to meet fans and talk soccer. The beer is a Session Sour brewed with fresh orange and electrolyte salts.
“When considering style choice, we thought it would be good to make something athletes would enjoy. We read about the use of electrolytes salts and immediately it was something we wanted to try,” remarked Platform’s brew staff.
“Our club is fortunate to have several strong corporate partners and supporters behind us, including our Official Brewery of Cleveland SC, Platform Beer Company,” said Sam Seibert, Owner and General Manager of Cleveland SC. “Our partnership with Platform has been tremendous throughout our inaugural season. Cleveland Soccer Club is excited to see a customized beer in stores and bars across NE Ohio to help us gain new fans of the team and Platform’s growing community of beers and sours. We are confident the Orange Aid collaboration beer helps our fans and supporters continue to celebrate Cleveland Soccer’s progress anytime.”
