Colorado’s potentate of powerful craft beers has another knock-you-down brew on the way. Avery Brewing Company will release the sequel to Tweak on Sunday. It’s an imperial coffee stout aged in bourbon barrels. The first batch of Tweak scored an elusive score of 100 on RateBeer.com, so expect to not be disappointed, unless of course you live in a state that has a cap on beer ABV.
Tweak is brewed with 1.6 lbs. of Ozo’s organic Isabelle Espresso roast per barrel. Avery made the coffee toddy by soaking the grounds in the beer rather than in water because it causes better extraction and more awesomeness.
Draft & bottles will be available starting at 11am this Sunday, the 31st. After the brewery release, bottles will make their way around AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, IL, KS, KY, MA, MN, MO, NE, NJ, NM, NY, OK, PA, SC, TX, VA, WA, WI, and WY.
Avery also invites you to join them to get “Super Under The Influence” at the brewpub in Boulder to watch Super Bowl 50. They’re bringing in big screens and super-sizing their draft lineup with 40 different beers. $25 gets you a beer, a commemorative glass and access to the free-refills buffet. Commemorative glasses will be available for the first 300 people. The brewpub opens at 3:30, Feb. 7.
