Devil Went Down to Georgia, formerly known as Track #11, was one of 13 beers that made up The Lost Abbey’s Ultimate Box Set, pays tribute to the fiendishly catch Charlie Daniel’s ballad of a Faustian fiddle contest with the Devil
“Devil Went Down to Georgia was a personal favorite of mine from the Ultimate Box Set,” said Tomme Arthur, COO and Co-Founder of The Lost Abbey. “Recreating the ‘Vern’, an amazingly refreshing bourbon cocktail with sweet peach tea, has been on my mind for a while, so we’re excited to share this beer with even more people this time around.”
Beginning with a base of our Angel’s Share ale, Devil Went Down to Georgia, was aged for over a year in bourbon barrels and then blended with peaches and sweet black tea. The end result becoming a delicious bourbon-forward ale, sprinkled with floral notes from the black tea and fresh cut peaches before culminating in a sweet oak and vanilla finish.
Devil Went Down to Georgia, 12.5% ABV, will be available in the San Marcos and Cardiff tasting rooms starting Friday, August 25th and hitting The Lost Abbey distribution network beginning August 28th.
