DESTIHL Brewery officially announced today that it will expand distribution of its beers internationally to South Korea, with a first shipment heading out this week.
Earlier this year, DESTIHL opened its massive, new production facility in Normal, Illinois, after outgrowing its initial production facility which opened in 2013.
“Getting our new, destination production brewery operational this year is really allowing us to expand production, grow within our existing markets and open doors into new, exciting markets, even global markets, which are seeking our unique beers,” said Founder, CEO and Brewmaster, Matt Potts. “Obviously South Korea is a non-traditional market for a US craft brewer, but we were sought after by and saw a unique opportunity to partner with Brewmasters International to begin our international growth for the first time throughout the South Korean peninsula.”
Beers from DESTIHL’s industry-changing WiLD SOUR Series and its other core beer offerings will be introduced into the South Korea craft beer scene in the coming weeks. The first shipment includes the following: WiLD SOUR Series (12oz cans) – Here Gose Nothin’®, SynchopathicTM, Flanders Red; and, Core Beers (12oz cans) – MoonjumperTM Milk Stout, AmraTM Mango IPA.
Neil Reinhardt, DESTIHL’s Director of Sales, also noted, “South Korea has a thirst for American craft beer, and we’re not alone in the thought that we provide a unique offering that will fill a niche in this foreign market.”
DESTIHL opened its first gastrobrewpub™ (DESTIHL Restaurant & Brew Works) in Normal, Illinois, in November 2007 and added its second gastrobrewpub in downtown Champaign, Illinois, in April 2011, where the company focuses on both artisan food and beers. The company’s original production brewery in Bloomington, IL commenced operations on May 31, 2013, but production was moved to its new facility in Normal, IL in March 2017. DESTIHL Brewery combines centuries-old, global brewing traditions and new American craft brewing ingenuity & artisanship to produce a wide array of beers for every palate. The result is a diverse offering of intensely flavorful beers that are anything but bland. The brewery currently distributes its beers in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin with availability in Washington, D.C. as well.
