Catawba Brewing has released their Riverkeeper Apple Sour Ale (5.4 percent ABV), a collaboration with Bold Rock Hard Cider. This elegantly rustic sour wheat beer is fermented on crushed green apples handpicked in Western North Carolina. A portion of all proceeds benefits the global Waterkeeper Alliance and local Riverkeeper organizations. Find it on draft and in 4-pack cans wherever Catawba beers are sold throughout the brewery’s 5-state distribution area.
Catawba is also hosting a French Broad River clean-up event, in partnership with French Broad Outfitters, Blue Ridge Orthodontics, and Mountain True. The public is encouraged to participate, meeting at Catawba’s Asheville Biltmore Village location (63 Brook St) at 1pm Saturday, Aug. 26th. Following an afternoon of floating, river cleaning, and beer drinking, the fleet will return to the tasting room, where the new Riverkeeper Apple Sour Ale will be pouring, and a raffle will be held with prizes donated by Catawba and Eagles Nest Outfitters.
Founded in 1999 by the Pyatt family, natives of Western North Carolina, Catawba Brewing operates a main production facility in downtown Morganton, NC at 212 S.
