Beer Week Celebrates The Best Kind Of ‘Mass-Production’

craft beer mass week

Mass Beer Week returns for a third year April 20-28.

This year’s Mass Beer Week marks the third installment of special events across the Bay State to commemorate, share, and enjoy all beers Mass-produced (that is, beers exclusively brewed in Massachusetts). The event has been a successful combination of marketing and fundraising for the Mass Brewers Guild (MBG).

Power Beer FestThe festivities kick off on Friday, April 20th with a non-ticketed event in Boston’s Seaport District pairing beers and pie (oh my!). There are a number of events taking place across the Commonwealth, including pint nights, Craft’d Company’s Beers with the Brewers, beer dinners pairing local brews with locally sourced ingredients, and even a special release party at Dorchester Brewing for the exclusive Brew Bros Twisted Dunkel.

Of course, the ultimate celebration of Mass. craft beer comes Saturday, April 28th during the 2nd annual Power Beer Fest at the SoWa Power Station. This event will feature over 60 Mass-based breweries all under one roof! Tickets are $55 each and include unlimited 2-ounce samples from some of the Bay State’s hottest breweries, including Tree House, Castle Island, Medusa, CraftRoots, Night Shift, Jack’s Abby, Lamplighter, and many, many more.

The perfect blend of fundraising and having fun

This week offers the MBG an opportunity to raise funds to support their efforts of overall support for breweries across the Commonwealth. These opportunities include the MBG Pint Nites, where $1 of each taproom pour will be donated to the guild, and the Power Beer Fest, where all proceeds go toward the guild’s mission to protecting and supporting Massachusetts craft brewers.

Mass Beer Week is also a great chance to experience all the great beer there is to try from the big, household names among local craft as well as the lesser-known breweries that may become your new favorite. It’s a time to head to a local taproom or wander around the grounds of a beer fest and meet new people that share your love of local, Mass-produced beer.
