Initiated by everyone’s favorite elusive Asheville, NC craft brewery comes Brew Studs’ 2nd annual update on WTF is happening with Burial Beer Co. Last spring we delivered the news about their 4th annual Saison festival, and we’re doing the same again in 2018, but we caught wind just a bit earlier this year.
This time, the details of Sharpen the Blades accompanies a shit ton of dank ass beer release news, and a hi-res photo of their Consequences of Humanity DIPA release. Just like errbody else in the world who’s tried their beers, we’re huge fans of what this non-sellout South Slope craft brewer is doing — always. Because of that — and because of the sheer scope — we’ve decided to serve up here what’s going on in the month of March down in the AVL under the ever-welcoming gaze of Magnum and Sloth.
To eliminate the muck of the earth, you must first encounter that which is known to be evil. Brewed with barley and wheat, this Burial fave is hopped with Mosaic, Ekuanot, Ella, Eureka and Citra hops. This hop blend is added during fermentation to accentuate the vivid tropical aromas of their house brettanomyces, which was solely used to ferment this pungent and juicy hoppy ale. |6%|1.058|50 IBU| Hazy Straw
Exploration of the cosmic intensity of the great Northwest dictates the exploration of the oneness of malt and hops with this pale lager. Made with Burial’s great friends and fellow lager stewards at Seattle’s Holy Mountain Brewing, this beer exhibits the Washington-grown barley and wheat, paired with Yakima Valley Comet and Cascade hops. It is the best expression that the 2 breweries could hope to offer, teeming with bright citrus zest, green grass and dry effervescence. |5%|1.048|30 IBU| Golden
Behind a thin veil of hallucinogenic aura and a pair of wide open eyes, there lays the smiling spirit of Burial’s vast memories. Double Dry-Hopped with Galaxy, Comet and Segal Ranch High Oil Cascade hops. Made with theri good friend, Chief, and Industrial Arts Brewing. |7.3%|1.068|50 IBU| Hazy Golden
Often, Burial burns on the flames of their self-indulgence. Sometimes, it is worth it. Made with Oats and Lactose and double dry-hopped with Citra. Aged upon Oranges. |8%|1.071|50 IBU| Hazy Blonde
